Candidates should possess a graduation degree and B.Ed. or equivalent qualification to be qualified to apply. The exam will consist of multiple–choice questions based on the prescribed syllabus. The exam will be conducted in two papers – Paper I for Primary Teachers (classes I–V) and Paper II for Upper Primary Teachers (classes VI–VIII). This exam will be followed by an interview and document verification process.
JKTET Details 2023
The exam is conducted once a year in order to recruit primary school teachers in the state. The examination consists of a total of 150 multiple–choice questions separated into four sections. The sections include Child Development and Pedagogy, Mathematics, Language 1 and Language 2.
Candidates must score at least 60% marks in each paper to qualify for the exam. The exam also includes an interview round for successful applicants. To apply for the exam, candidates must possess a graduation degree from a recognised university and the requisite teaching qualifications. Candidates must also pass a background check to be eligible for the exam.

JKTET Eligibility 2023
In order to be eligible for the JK TET exam, candidates must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field of study. The candidates must also have cleared their Higher Secondary School Examination (HSSC) or equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks. In addition to the educational qualifications, candidates must also have a professional teaching certificate such as the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) or the State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET).
Candidates belonging to the reserved categories such as Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) are eligible for relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks. The minimum age limit for appearing for the JK TET exam is 18 years, and the upper age limit is determined depending on the category of the candidate.

The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Eligibility Test (JK–TET) is a mandatory examination for those seeking to become primary school teachers in Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) conducts the exam in compliance with the Right to Education Act of 2009.
