BOI Probationary Officers Exam Pattern
The selection process for the Probationary Officer position consists of three stages at the BOI. These stages are the Written exam, the Group Discussion, and the Interview. The examination format for the first stage got announced; there will be both an objective and descriptive portion. The objective portion will consist of 155 MCQs worth 200 marks; students will have 180 minutes to answer all these questions during the exam period.
The descriptive exam will have two questions: letter writing and essay writing. Each question is only worth 25 marks, and students will have 30 minutes to complete both. Only in the case of the objective exam will there be a provision for negative marking; for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be subtracted from the total score.
