SSA Payment History 2023
When the Social Security Board first existed, it became the Social Security Administration (SSA) (SSB). As soon as President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act, the SSB was established. The SSB was a brand-new organisation with no personnel, no infrastructure, and no funding. Harry Hopkins and the Federal Emergency Relief Administration provided a temporary budget, and the initial staff was supplied by other organisations.
The first member of the Board was Arthur Altmeyer, who was offered the position by Secretary of Labor Frances Perkins. Since the SSB lacked furniture, Perkins even gave Altmeyer her high-backed red leather executive chair. The Board itself was made up of three executives chosen by the president, along with any additional staff that was required.

SSA Payment Calculator 2023
Based on your age and salary history, the calculator estimates how much you will get in Social Security payments. With ou calculator, you can also discover how much of your daily expenses your payments can cover and how delaying collection would enhance your advantages. It might also inform you of the impact that is continuing to work after claiming Social Security would have on your retirement income. Our condensed estimate is based on two critical pieces of information: your age and the national median income. Your retirement benefit is calculated using your lifetime earnings at jobs for which you have paid Social Security taxes.
Your lifetime earnings determine your monthly retirement payment at employment for which you paid Social Security taxes and is based on the last 35 years’ greatest salaries. The Social Security Administration can provide you with your past earnings data (SSA). The age you are when you initially apply for Social Security affects your payout as well. The minimum retirement age is 62, but if you wait until full retirement age, which is 66 but rapidly rising to 67 for those born in 1960 or after, you’ll receive a larger monthly benefit. You’ll get your highest monthly benefit if you can wait until you’re 70 to begin receiving.
