Due to the additional work needs, it got postponed a second time. According to co-screenwriters and executive producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller (via Deadline (opens in new tab)), over 1,000 people are working on this highly ambitious animated film, so everyone needs time to make it as excellent as they can.

According to Lord and Miller, “We could try to get it out at the original date, and it would be OK. However, the movie will be every bit as innovative, exceptional, and fantastic as the first one. We, therefore, decided to “make it fantastic.”

Additionally, Miller revealed on Twitter that Metro Boomin, a hip-hop and trap musician, is creating the soundtrack for the film. Let’s hope Metro Boomin’s past superhero-themed albums impact the possibly slamming music for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Spider Man Across the Spider Verse Trailer

On December 13, the first trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse got announced. And when Lord, Miller, and the rest of the cast hinted at how huge this movie would be, they weren’t kidding.

The teaser begins with Miles Morales and his mother, Rio, having a private conversation at some unknown place. Rio says that her “little boy” is growing up too quickly before giving Miles an inspiring lecture on the need to take care of himself, to which Miles nods in agreement. As Rio speaks, a multiverse-based scene begins, including numerous of Spider-Men from throughout the Spider-Verse.

However, as soon as Miles vows to take care of himself, the teaser abruptly shifts into a battle for his life, with other Spider-Men following him and Spider-Man 2099 yelling, “Who do you think you are!?” Cut to Spider-Man 2099 declaring, “We’re meant to be the good guys,” to Gwen Stacey’s dramatic, “We’re supposed to be the good guys” statement.

The dialogue and scenes in the trailer try to mislead viewers about the movie’s flow. Even so, it’s exciting to see, and we can’t wait to see more before the launch.

Across the Spider Verse Plot

For the upcoming part of the Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Miles Morales makes a triumphant comeback.

When Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy reunite, they travel across the Multiverse, where they come across tonnes of Spider-People tasked with safeguarding the Multiverse’s very existence. Miles must reconsider what it means to be a hero to save the ones he cares about most when the heroes disagree over how to tackle a new threat and pit him against the other Spiders.

After the release of the 2021 trailer, Phil Lord and Chris Miller spoke about why they chose to split the story of Miles’ arc across two films. Miller and Lord claim that Miles’ tale is epic.

Miller and Lord declared that Miles’ story was magnificent. “We created the tale how we imagined it should be, and to our astonishment, we discovered it required two films rather than one. Both are developing at the moment.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will span six different realities, each with its distinct animation style. The Earth-50101, also known as Mumbatten, and Nueva York, which serve as Spider-Man 2099’s setting and depends on Syd Mead’s neo-futuristic drawings, are depicted in the 2021 teaser. We’ll also travel to the worlds of Miles (Earth-1610) and Spider-Gwen (Earth-65), but the whereabouts of the other two are unknown.

Miller emphasized Collider’s commitment to investigating alternate realities: “We had the creative freedom to push the staff at (Sony Pictures) ImageWorks to find a way to make each dimension appear to have been created by a different artist. It’s amazing to watch that stuff develop, and in all honesty, that’s why we keep doing it—because it’s so challenging to get it right.”
